At the 54th Commencement of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, held at David Geffen Hall at Lincoln Center in May, Dr. Valentín Fuster had the honor of bestowing wisdom upon a new cohort of physicians and researchers. The honor of delivering the Commencement address is reserved for individuals who have made a big impact in the health and sciences field. Dr. Valentín Fuster has a long and illustrious career as a physician and researcher.

Prestigious Award Named in Honor of Dr. Valentín Fuster

The American College of Cardiology (ACC) has established a new award in honor of Dr. Valentín Fuster. The first Valentín Fuster Award for Innovation in Science was announced at ACC’s 71st Annual Scientific Session in Washington in April. It went to Dr. Valentín Fuster for his significant contributions to cardiovascular medicine as a champion of scientific research and an innovator in the delivery of science through novel mechanisms, and his international voice on the importance of embracing scientific inquiry to improve the care of cardiovascular patients and promote life-long heart health. The award will be given to a single physician annually for the next 15 years.
